Hotel Dreamland, Mandarmani is one of the comfortable accommodation when you visit there . Mandarmani is a seaside resort village in the state of West Bengal, India, lies in East Midnapore district and at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal. The Hotel has 24 well-furnished A/C rooms . Red crabs crawling around the 13 km long beach is a special attraction of Mandarmani. It is argued to be the longest driveable (drive in) beach. On the beach, you can just stand and listen to the waves crashing the shore which will definitely refresh your mind and body.

The beach is the primary attraction offering tourists to enjoy the sea from early morning to late afternoon. From 3 PM onwards, people head out nearer to the resorts where beach bikes, ropeway etc. can be availed. There are also a string of local shops selling shells, handmade jewellery and handicrafts. A few locals also offer tourists to take a trip towards the mohana (Estuary) during sunset.

What you can Do

Relax, swim and enjoy the beach or the pool in the property. You can roam everywhere. It is unlikely for anybody to disturb your privacy and the beauty of this beach is such that you are not likely to have many other visitors around.

What you can Buy

Fresh fish & crabs are available in restaurant which will give you a good appetite. The small shops dotting the beach also sell small knick-knacks made out of shells and oysters.

Be careful while driving on the beach and try to stick to the central part of the beach while driving. Towards the end of the beach, the sands are soft in places and your car may get stuck in it. Avoid driving on the beach after dark as if you get stuck in the sand dunes, you may not be able to get any local help to pull your vehicle out.

How to Reach Mandarmani

The nearest train station is at Contai and the nearest airport is at Kolkata. Previously,there was no proper road for the last 6 km into Mandarmani, which forced you to drive along the beach. By road from Kolkata, take the Kona Expressway after crossing the Vidyasagar Setu. There are two toll plazas on the route to be crossed. The total drive to Mandarmani takes about 3.5 – 4 hours.
